Nashville, TN / December 1, 2010 – Fervent Records’ 14-time Dove Award nominated and Platinum-Selling band BarlowGirl (Alyssa, Lauren and Rebecca) will give a sneak peak of their new music video for their fan-favorite Christmas song “Hallelujah (Light Has Come)” as part of this year’s Billy Graham TV Christmas special “The Greatest Journey.” Produced by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, this exclusive video will make its worldwide debut online at www.billygraham.tv and www.BarlowGirl.com starting December 1, 2010. The Billy Graham TV special is set to air on national Christian networks and online throughout the month of December. To watch the program online or to find dates, times and networks, please visit www.billygraham.tv.
“The Greatest Journey” special follows BarlowGirl and CCM artist Matthew West as they participate in Operation Christmas Child in Belize and Columbia, respectively. Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse, collects gifts for needy families and distributes them around the world. In August, BarlowGirl traveled to Belize to hand-deliver gifts to the children and this was a moving experience for the group.
“Being a part of the moment when the children opened their gifts was one that we will never forget. Seeing how much such a simple gift means to them made us realize that Samaritans Purse OCC program was a ministry we had to partner with on this Christmas tour and help give back in anyway we can,” shared the Barlow girls.
“Hallelujah (Light Has Come)” is from this super trio’s acclaimed Christmas album Home For Christmas released in 2008. Currently, BarlowGirl is headlining their Acoustic Winter's Night Tour playing dates all across the country in support of their latest album Our Journey…So Far with upcoming shows in Fort Wayne, IN (12/10), Minneapolis, MN (12/11) and Fargo, ND (12/12).
Since releasing their self-titled debut in 2004, Rebecca, Alyssa and Lauren Barlow have continuously inspired fans with such intimate portraits, as their sophomore set, Another Journal Entry and such bold challenges as 2007’s, How Can We Be Silent. Nominated for fourteen Dove Awards, the songwriting siblings have written and recorded such landmark hits as “Never Alone,” which became Radio & Records’ Christian Song of the Year in 2004 and helped earn BarlowGirl best-selling new Christian artist status. Their poignant hit, “I Need You to Love Me,” topped the charts for thirteen weeks in 2005, making it the longest #1 single in Christian Radio Weekly Chart History. BarlowGirl has always represented an interesting dichotomy; tender-hearted, beautiful young women who aren’t afraid to take an aggressive, almost warrior-like stance when it comes to spreading the gospel and serving God. That fiery dedication reverberates throughout their latest release Our Journey…So Far that chronicles the never-before-seen side of their 10-year musical adventure.
